Minnetonka High School has placed head boys basketball coach, and former Timberwolves player, Chris Carr on leave while the school district investigates an unspecified incident.
Carr was hired as the head boys basketball coach at Minnetonka earlier this year. The Chanhassen Villager notes news of his suspension comes after just seven games into his tenure as the head coach.
Minnetonka school districts communications director, Janet Swiecichowski, tells the Star Tribune that Carr was placed on leave Wednesday and that an investigation is underway.
Data practice laws prevent the school from commenting further until after the investigation has concluded, KSTP reports, but sources close to the investigation tell the station Carr got into some type of confrontation with a student.

Carr spent six seasons in the NBA – three with the Timberwolves, 1996-99. He also spent time with the Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics.
Carr didn’t comment for KSTP.
Prior to taking the head coaching job at Minnetonka, Carr was the girls’ varsity basketball coach at Eden Prairie. His teams won 100 games in just five seasons. Minnetonka was scheduled to play at Eden Prairie on Friday night in boys hoops.

He also operates 43 Hoops Basketball Academy, and is well-known for mentoring young basketball players.
Minnetonka hasn’t established a timeline for when Carr could return.
