North Oaks, Minnesota native Joe Alt has been drafted No. 5 overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Starring at Totino-Grace High School in Fridley, Minnesota, Alt was a four-star prospect according to 247sports and On3 Sports before heading to Notre Dame for his college career.
He was the No. 2 prospect in all of Minnesota in the class of 2021 and was reportedly very close to choosing to stay home and play for the Gophers, before he ended up choosing to play in South Bend, Indiana.
He started 34 games in his three-year Notre Dame career, earning unanimous All-American honors as a senior last season.

He will now slot into the starting tackle position on the opposite side of Rashawn Slater in Los Angeles, protecting QB Justin Herbert for first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh.
