The host city for the 2017 College Football Playoff championship game could be Minneapolis.
The Star Tribune reports that Minneapolis has placed a bid with the hopes of hosting the game at the new Vikings stadium.
Five other cities also placed a bid: Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami, San Antonio and Santa Clara.
The winner will be announced in November.
NCAA football is doing away with the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) after this season. The switch to a more conventional playoff format will debut at the end of the 2014 season.
