Viking Update reports that Zimmer doesn’t expect the Vikings to be big spenders in free agency, regardless of team need or position availability.

Zimmer joins a group of high-profile members of the organization that have issued public support for Peterson. Team Co-Owner/President Mark Wilf, Chief Operating Officer Kevin Warren and GM Rick Spielman have expressed a desire to see Peterson back in purple next season.
The all-pro running back is currently suspended by the NFL for his role in a child abuse case that developed last year.
Zimmer is scheduled to address the media during a press conference later Thursday morning. We’ll have more afterward.
