Mike Zimmer met with the media on Monday afternoon following the Vikings’ 17-14 win over the Packers Sunday night.
Although his team is 2-0 on the season, the Vikings have another obstacle to overcome as they lost Adrian Peterson to a torn meniscus. How long he’ll be out is unknown, but it’s not good considering the Vikings are going into the den of the defending NFC champions this week.
The first words out of Zimmer’s mouth when he reached the podium on Monday: “It’s going to be another miserable Tuesday.”
After planning against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers last Tuesday, Zimmer will spend this Tuesday – a day off for the players – watching film on Carolina and reigning NFL MVP Cam Newton, who put up a big numbers on Sunday in the Panthers’ win over San Francisco.
The Panthers are 1-1 on the season but ESPN said earlier this month they expect the Panther to go 12-4 this season.

When asked about their confidence going into Charlotte, Vikings safety Harrison Smith told BringMeTheNews that it’s not any higher than it was prior to slowing Rodgers and the Packers.
“I don’t think we have more confidence. We’ve been as confident as we need to be and we’ll continue doing that through ups and downs. There will be adversity, it won’t be great every game – it’s just how it is. We just need to keep an even-keel and keep confidence in one another.”
Kickoff is set for noon Sunday.
