Twins fans will be paying close attention to any details released about the health of slugging prospect Miguel Sano.
The power-hitting third baseman was scheduled to meet with team doctors today after tweaking his right elbow making a throw from third to first during an intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday, according to Rhett Bollinger.
Sano felt something in his elbow while making a throw across his body yesterday. Twins will know more after he's checked out today.

Sano felt pain in his elbow after making an off-balance throw in the fourth inning of the scrimmage.
“He came in and they asked him, ‘How did that feel?’ “ Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony told the Pioneer Press. “He said he felt it a little bit on that one. So they took him out of the game and he went in to get it checked out. When he came in today it was still a little sore.”
The Star Tribune reported in November that Sano had to cut his winter ball program short after straining his ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. But he was recently cleared to resume all baseball activities. There was speculation at the time that his injury might require Tommy John surgery.
Hardball Talk’s Aaron Gleeman writes that Tommy John surgery isn’t nearly as debilitating for positional players compared to pitchers, but it would still be a major setback in the growth of one of Major League Baseball’s finest prospects.
Sano was recently ranked the No. 3-rated prospect in all of baseball by MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo. The 20-year-old hit .280 with 35 home runs and 103 RBI in 123 games between Class A Fort Myers and Class AA New Britain last season. Fellow Twins prospect outfielder Byron Buxton is No. 1 on the same list.
Sano went 0-2 in the team scrimmage on Thursday and reportedly looked good playing third base.
