The Minnesota Gophers got a big 2-0 win over Michigan Saturday night, sweeping the Wolverines in their weekend series and moving into a tie for first place in the Big Ten standings.

Goalie Adam Wilcox had 26 saves in the shutout. Michigan, the highest-scoring team in college hockey, was held to just two goals over the past two games.
Seth Ambroz scored the Gophers first goal early in the first period, and Wilcox protected the lead through the rest of the game. It was his first shutout in two months, according to the Star Tribune.
This empty-net goal with 20 seconds left put the game away for the Gophers.

It’s a big turnaround for the Gophers, who were mired in a slump just a few weeks ago.
Minnesota plays Penn State next weekend on the road.

Bemidji State over Northern Michigan 5-1
The Beavers completed a two-game weekend sweep with the win. Bemidji State is now 12-14-4 overall and 8-10-4 in WCHA play. They host the University of Alaska-Anchorage next weekend. Game recap here.
