Donovan McNabb hasn’t played in the National Football League since playing for the Minnesota Vikings in 2011, but his football career continues to evolve.
According to the Washington Times, the quarterback of the Vikings, Redskins and Eagles will join play-by-play announcer Dick Stockton in the FOX broadcast booth. McNabb won’t work every week with Stockton. Former NFL players Brady Quinn and Kirk Morrison will rotate with McNabb as the color commentator.
McNabb was already part of the FOX family. He joined FOX Sports 1 as an analyst with the network launched about a year ago. He’s also co-hosted a sports talk show on NBC Sports Radio.
In addition to working games, McNabb will appear on “FOX NFL Kickoff” to provide pre-game coverage along with former Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss and former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher. The show will be hosted by Joel Klatt, according to Syracuse.com.
McNabb started the first six games for the Vikings in 2011. He went 1-5 as the starter before being replaced by Christian Ponder. The Vikings eventually waived the 13-year veteran in a move that ESPN reported was a “mutual decision.”
