Mauer, Perkins on US roster for World Baseball Classic

A pair of Minnesota Twins will represent the United States in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

Catcher Joe Mauer and reliever Glen Perkins were named to the roster, the Star Tribune reports.

It’s the first appearance for both players.

First baseman Justin Morneau is expected to be named to the Team Canada roster, which will be released later today.
