Former Twin and current Rockies first baseman Justin Morneau is in a battle for the final spot on the National League roster for the upcoming MLB All-Star game at Target Field, and he is receiving help from friends and other MLB teams all over North America.
The Minnesota Twins are one of those teams trying to help Morneau get into the Mid-Summer classic. The Twins retweeted this tweet from the Colorado Rockies:
Hey #MNTwins fans, can you confirm that you'll #VoteMorneau?

Morneau’s former teammate and roommate Joe Mauer made a less-than-inspiring video telling fans to vote for Morneau.
Some of Morneau’s current teammates are trying to help his cause. Rockies outfielder Brandon Barnes wore Vote Mo on his eyeblack during the team’s game yesterday.

Morneau is having a breakout season after struggling with concussion-related issues since 2010. The 2006 American League MVP is batting .314 with 59 RBI and 13 homeruns for the Rockies.
An appearance in the All-Star game at Target Field would be a homecoming of sorts for Morneau, who has not played at Target Field since being traded by the Twins in August of last year. He played for the Twins from 2003-13 before being traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates last season. Minnesotans seem to also support the possible reunion.

While Morneau is receiving a lot of support, there is some pretty good competition for this spot. Morneau is up against Casey McGehee of the Miami Marlins, Anthony Renden of the Washington Nationals, Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs and Justin Upton of the Atlanta Braves.
Morneau is currently leading the race for the final spot, according to Major League Baseball.
