The Minnesota Lynx selected Tennessee wing Rennia Davis with the ninth overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft.

Davis comes to Minnesota a versatile defender who is also an efficient scorer in the paint. Davis shot 53.6 percent in the paint last season and 73.9 percent on shots at the rim, according to CBB analytics.
The 6-foot-2 Davis also excels at rebounding. Davis averaged 8.8 rebounds per game last season and pulled down 20 boards in a victory over Kentucky last January.
While Davis excels down low, she’ll need to work on her 3-point shooting. Davis shot just 26 percent from beyond the arc last season.
Despite her struggles from the outside, Davis averaged 17.3 points per game during her senior season and should be a boost on the wing for the Lynx.
Davis will join a talented core in Minnesota that includes the past two WNBA Rookies of the Year in Napheesa Collier and Crystal Dangerfield and also Odessey Sims, who made the All-Star team in 2019.
The Lynx supplemented the roster with veterans this offseason, adding Aerial Powers, Rachel McBride and Natalie Achonwa in free agency.
With their additions, the Lynx will look to contend for a WNBA championship after reaching the WNBA semifinals last season.
