Napheesa Collier’s season-high 31 points were not enough
Despite a season-high 31 points from Napheesa Collier, the Lynx fell to the Sun 83-82 on the road, moving to 2-1 on the season.
Minnesota got off to a red-hot start, leading 23-14 after the first quarter, thanks to nine early points from Collier.

The Lynx had more in the tank, winning the third quarter 16-15. Collier led the team with six points in the quarter, and her total grew to 20 for the game.
It was all back and forth in the fourth quarter. It looked like the Sun were going to close things out, but Collier had other plans, hitting a massive layup with 11.1 seconds to go, evening the game at 72, and forcing overtime.
The Sun just had more down the stretch and came out on top 83-82. Collier led all scorers with 31 points. Courtney Williams added 19, while DeWanna Bonner led Connecticut with 20.
The Lynx will head back to the Target Center and host the Liberty on Saturday at 12:00 P.M. local time, in hopes of getting back in the win column.
