Gophers hockey coach Don Lucia said on his weekly radio show that he has no regrets about playing outdoors at Soldier Field on Sunday. He didn’t like losing to Wisconsin, but said it was a first class, organized and tremendous experience for the players.
The WCHA is well-respected at this point of the season with five teams in the top 10 of the USCHO poll. While Quinnipiac is still number one, the Gophers are still ranked second.
North Dakota is sixth, St. Cloud State seventh, Minnesota State ninth and Denver tenth.
