It was another rough night in the gym for the Timberwolves who got blown out at home by the Atlanta Hawks, falling 116-98 for their fourth straight loss and 11th loss in 12 games since starting the season with two straight wins.
Minnesota, with a 3-11 record, has the worst record in the Western Conference, just one loss fewer than Detroit (3-12) for the worst record in the NBA.
Trae Young and Clint Capela completely dominated for Atlanta. Young scored 43 points while Capela dominated the interior with 13 points, 19 rebounds and a career-high 10 blocks.
The Wolves were again without star big man Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19 protocol), and point guard D’Angelo Russell continued his struggles as he finished with just 9 points in just 21 minutes.
Minnesota, as a team, made 8 of 32 threes while Young, by himself, made 8 of 12 from deep.
The Wolves are back in action Saturday against New Orleans. .
