The Twins earned a much-needed win by a score of 3-1 over the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday at Target Field.
The victory salvages the series after the Brewers won Friday and Saturday, and puts the Twins back in the winning column after losing five of their last six.
Jake Odorizzi didn’t factor in the decision but he did pitch 5 2/3 strong innings, allowing just one run while striking out eight.
The game was tied 1-1 in the eighth until Logan Morrison broke it open with a bases loaded, two-run double off the top of the wall in right-center.
The Twins improved to 19-23 on the season, just two games behind the first-place Indians in the division, but only one game ahead of Ron Gardenhire’s Tigers, who visit Target Field for the first time this season on Monday.
