Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz and Minnesota Vikings coach Leslie Frazier say the stellar season so far from superstar running back Adrian Peterson is not only inspiring, but something beyond mere mortals. Both are extremely impressed — as is the rest of the football world — at Peterson’s comeback following ACL surgery last December.
Schwartz, in a conference call with reporters today, said Peterson appears to have defied recovery time frames “for all the other mortal people.”
Frazier, meanwhile, says Peterson’s recovery is an “inspiration for everybody.”Peterson, who currently leads the NFL in rushing, has often said in the past few weeks that he’s just going to get better as the season progresses.
The Lions and Vikings meet Sunday at Mall of America Field. In their first meeting this year, a 20-13 Vikings win, Peterson rushed for 102 yards on 21 carries.
