The Vikings appear to be getting healthier as the week progresses.
On Thursday, defensive tackle Linval Joseph return to practice for the first time since injuring his toe in a game Nov. 29. According to the Star Tribune, Joseph practiced during the portion open to the media, but there’s no word if he continued practicing.
If Joseph can return to the middle of the defensive line the Vikings will be three starters closer to a full defensive lineup than they were in last Thursday’s 23-20 loss at Arizona. Joseph, outside linebacker Anthony Barr and safeties Harrison Smith and Andrew Sendejo all missed that game with injuries.
Smith practiced Wednesday and Thursday and Sendejo is on record saying he will play Sunday against Chicago.
Barr remained out of practice on Thursday, along with defensive end Everson Griffen (shoulder), so Friday’s final injury report Sunday will likely tell the story on who’s in and who’s out.
Griffen, though, told the Pioneer Press that he plans on playing.
