It’s been the Luka Doncic show in Dallas this season, but it was the no-name players who led the Mavericks to a fourth-quarter rally and 121-114 win over the visiting Timberwolves Wednesday night.
Dwight Powell scored 24 points on 9-of-9 shooting and Jalen Brunson scored 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to fuel the come-from-behind a win. Minnesota led by four going into the final dozen minutes, then got outscored 41-30 in the fourth to drop to .500 on the season (10-10).
Dallas (15-6) is one of the biggest surprises in the NBA and is in fourth in the Western Conference. Even at .500, the Wolves sit in seventh place.
Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins each scored 26 points while Robert Covington added 22 for the Wolves.
“We’ve got to find consistency playing for 48 (minutes),” Towns said, via ESPN.
