The Senate launched hearings Tuesday to discuss a possible new home for the Minnesota Vikings.
One state senator urged the team to meet with Minneapolis city leaders. Mayor R.T. Rybak continued to offer three sites within the city’s limits, all of which he says would be better options, but he says the team has yet to sit down at the table, according to the Associated Press.
Republican Sen. Geoff Michel had a few sharp words for Rybak, saying Minneapolis might be too late to the party. He also urged the mayor to pick just one site, the Star Tribune reports. “You got three, you really got none.”
Vikings Vice President Lester Bagley reiterated the team’s commitment to the state. “The Minnesota Vikings belong in Minnesota.” Fox 9 has more.
But, as Forum Communications’ Don Davis reports, the team won’t say what would happen without a deal.
