Zach LaVine’s season ended abruptly when he suffered a torn ACL Friday night in Minnesota’s road loss to the Detroit Pistons.
On Saturday, LeBron James went out of his way to boost LaVine’s spirit with a nice note on Twitter, saying, “Don’t know you personally but love your talent homie. Have a healthy and speedy recovery Zach LaVine!! Minor setback/major comeback.”

Ricky Rubio, who went through a torn ACL five years ago, gave LaVine a shout on Instagram.
“Speedy recovery lil bro. It’s just a little setback. You will come back stronger,” Rubio wrote.
Karl-Anthony Towns said he cried when he heard the news while other NBA players, including Milwaukee’s Jabari Parker, who tore his ACL as a rookie, reached out to LaVine.
Would be lying if I said I didn't cry when I got the news. Wishing a speedy recovery to not just my teammate, but my brother @ZachLaVine 🙏🏽
