Coffey told the Pioneer Press that he got to know Curry at a Nike All-America camp and they were together during an official visit to the Gophers, which included attending the Gophers-TCU football game on Sept. 3.
“I hope Eric Curry joins the Gophers family,” Coffey said. “I actually knew him before the visit. I went to a Nike Camp last year in St. Louis. Ever since then we’ve been texting every week. We have a pretty good relationship.”
Rivals ranks Curry as the 150th best player in the class of 2016 and gives him three stars.
ESPN Recruiting Nation says Curry is the No. 2 player in Arkansas.
