Mike Aviles’ walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth gave the Cleveland Indians a 4-3 victory over the Twins at Progressive Field on Wednesday night.
Asdrubal Cabrera led off the bottom of the ninth with a double to left field on a ball that was misplayed by Eduardo Escobar. Cabrera moved to third on a bunt and scored the game-winning run on Aviles’ two-out single, off of Twins reliever Casey Fien.
Escobar, normally an infielder, started in left field for the Twins, who were once again shorthanded with only two bench players.

John Axford pitched around some trouble in the top of the ninth inning to keep the Twins off the scoreboard for his first win of the season. Fien was tagged with his first loss.
Ricky Nolasco didn’t factor in the decision but he provided another solid outing for the Twins. Nolasco went six innings and gave up three runs on six hits and struck out nine.
Brian Dozier drove in a pair of runs for the Twins in Wednesday night’s game.
The Twins took a short lived lead in the top of the third inning. Dozier drove a double to the gap allowing Pedro Florimon to come around to score, giving Minnesota the 1-0 lead.
The Indians rallied to take a 3-1 lead, highlighted by a Yan Gomes fourth home run of the year.
Danny Santana cut the Indians lead to one at 3-2 with a single. Dozier followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the score at three.
Before Santana's RBI single, #mntwins had been 1 for 21 RISP since 7th inning on Sunday.

The Twins and Indians will play the final game of the series tomorrow. First pitch is 11:05.
– After the game Twins manager Ron Gardenhire announced that they would call up Matt Guerrier. FOX Sports North reports to make room for Guerrier the Twins sent down Logan Darnell to Triple A Rochester.
