Lance Stephenson is signing a 10-day contract with the Timberwolves, according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Wolves head coach spoke Tuesday and said Stephenson is one of the guys they are strongly considering but didn’t confirm it would happen.
Stephenson is only 26 years old and he would be expected to come in and provide playmaking in the absence of injured guard Zach LaVine. He’s a versatile scorer who can play both guard positions.
In six games with New Orleans earlier this season he averaged 9.7 points, 3 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
Stephenson was a key cog down the stretch for Memphis last season, playing point guard for an injury-riddled team that lost in the first-round of the playoffs against San Antonio.
He’s probably best known for blowing in LeBron James’ ear a couple of years ago.
