It wasn’t the start to the final 10 games of the regular season the Wild were hoping for from goaltender Darcy Kuemper. He was benched in a 5-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night.
In a critical game for the Wild before a difficult four-game road trip the rookie goaltender gave up three goals on 12 shots, according to the Star Tribune.
Wild coach Mike Yeo said Tuesday the team would “sort out” its goalie situation over the final 10 games of the regular season.

David Booth had the first two goals of the game for the Canucks. The first one gave Vancouver a 1-0 lead. After Charlie Coyle tied the game at one, Booth struck again early in the second period.
It was the first of four unanswered goals for Vancouver in the final two periods.
Minnesota didn’t score again until Nino Niederreiter netted his 13th goal of the season with the Wild trailing 5-1 in the game’s closing minutes.
