Cleveland pitcher Corey Kluber threw his second complete game against the Twins in a week on Friday night. Kluber went the distance, holding the Twins to one hit in a 6-1 Indians victory at Target Field.
Kluber also held the Twins to one run on three hits in Cleveland on Sunday. That’s just four hits in 18 innings for the Twins against Kluber in five days.
Kluber struck out seven and walked one Friday night.

The only Twins player to do anything offensively was Joe Mauer. He had Minnesota’s lone hit, it was a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
But that was all the Twins could muster off Kluber.
Cleveland on the other hand pounded out 14 hits against several Twins pitchers. Five players had multi-hit nights for the Indians.
Lonnie Chisenhall led the way for Cleveland. He was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Giovanny Urshela was 2-for-4 with a home run and a pair of runs scored.
Trevor May (8-8) made the spot start for the Twins in place of Phil Hughes who was placed on the disabled list Thursday. May gave up two runs on five hits in three innings of work.
The Twins will bring back rookie Tyler Duffey (0-1) to make the start on Saturday night against Josh Tomlin for the Indians.
