With all due respect to the top receivers the Washington Redskins have had the past four seasons, they’re not at the same level as Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen of the Vikings.
It’s that duo that has Kirk Cousins extremely excited for his first year in purple and gold, and in a sit-down interview with Vikings.com’s Mike Wobschall, Cousins said Diggs and Thielen have “lived up to the hype.”
“Diggsie, maybe his best trait would be the way he tracks the ball in the air. He does that as well as anybody I’ve ever played with,” Cousins said. “Adam Thielen is also a very natural receiver, he catches the ball naturally. He’s hard to cover and he’s aggressive toward the football.
“Many receivers shy away from the football, they want to absorb the football. Adam attacks the football, and when you attack the ball it’s hard to defend, it’s hard to cover.”

Diggs and Thielen combined for 153 receptions, 2,125 yards and 12 touchdowns last season, which is arguably better production than any duo Cousins played with in Washington the last four seasons.

Keep in mind that Minnesota attempted 527 passes last season, whereas Washington attempted between 540-607 passes the last four seasons, showing again that what Case Keenum accomplished in 2017 with Diggs and Thielen was extremely efficient.

“They can teach me a lot about the game and what they do well. We learn from one another and that dialogue’s been fun,” Cousins added. “They both have tremendous ability. We’ve gotta keep them healthy and we’ve got to keep them involved, because when the ball is in their hands, good things happen.”
