The NFL is business as usual despite a global pandemic and on Monday the agent for Kirk Cousins said the quarterback has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, it’s a two-year extension worth $66 million. Coupled with the final year of his deal in 2020, the total value is $96 million over three years, including $61 million guaranteed.

Entering the opening of NFL free agency this week, the Vikings were approximately $20 million under the cap after releasing cornerback Xavier Rhodes and defensive tackle Linval Joseph last week.
Cousins’ new deal will add $10 million to Minnesota’s cap space, according to Tom Pelissero.

Cousins, 31, passed for 26 touchdowns and six interceptions last season while helping Minnesota upset the New Orleans Saints on the road in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
