Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins is reportedly “ahead of schedule” in his recovery from an Achilles injury that ended his 2023 season early.
Cousins tore his Achilles in the Vikings’ Week 8 win over the Green Bay Packers. The 35-year-old heads into the offseason out of contract after six seasons in Minnesota.
“I’m told he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from the Achilles [injury],” Pelissero reported on Friday’s episode of NFL Insiders. “He’s actually going to be throwing before the Combine next month.”

With his future up in the air, Cousins is considered one of the top free agents this offseason. A number of QB-needy teams have been rumored to be interested in the four-time Pro Bowler.
In two seasons in Kevin O’Connell’s offense, Cousins threw for 6,878 yards 47 touchdowns and 19 interceptions while leading Minnesota to a 17-8 record, the best stretch of his 12-year career.
“Everything tracking in a good direction for Kirk Cousins to be fully ready to roll for the Vikings, or whoever he might with in 2024,” Pelissero said.
