Gophers football coach Jerry Kill told a group in Willmar he is planning to coach from the sideline this fall.
According to the Star Tribune, Kill told the audience, “I’ll be on the sideline. That’s who I am and I think that’s best for our team. However, if we need to adjust something, [the coaches have] all been together a long time.”

He was one of the coaches who spoke during the first stop on the Gopher Road Trip, at the Willmar American Legion.
The Star Tribune says Kill told the crowd he was feeling pretty good. He has been seizure free since last fall.
Kill spent the majority of last season coaching from the press box. He missed the game against Michigan in Ann Arbor, and took a brief leave to focus on treating his epilepsy.
He did finish the end of the Gophers Texas Bowl loss to Syracuse on the sideline, but spent the majority of the final seven games in the press box.
Last week Kill announced the he and the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota have teamed up to start a foundation focused on generating money to help teach students about epilepsy in schools.
Kill and his wife Rebecca donated $100,000 to the fund and vowed to help fundraise $500,000.
He garnered the national spotlight last fall after the seizures during Gophers games forced him to take the brief leave.
