Mitch Leidner will be under center when the Gophers look for their first Big Ten win of the season Saturday afternoon against Purdue.
Head coach Jerry Kill told KFAN on Thursday that Leidner will continuing starting. Leidner has thrown for 950 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions this season.
The announcement may come to the chagrin of fans hoping to see more of true freshman Demry Croft, who was 5-of-11 for 27 yards in one quarter of play at Northwestern.
Croft could still see some action the rest of the season, perhaps even this week when the Gophers hit the road against the Boilermakers. According to the Pioneer Press, Kill hasn’t announced whether he plans to use both quarterbacks going forward.
