Well, at least something good came out of the Vikings-Packers tie game on Sunday.
The Minnesota Vikings says placekicker Blair Walsh won the NFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week.
According to Vikings.com, Walsh went a perfect 4-for-4 on FGs, including a 47-yarder in regulation and a 35-yarder in overtime, and added five kickoff touchbacks, both season highs.
He’s the second Viking this season to win the award this season, with Cordarrelle Patterson picking it up in Week 8.
Walsh has been here before, being named special teams player of the week three times during his outstanding 2012 rookie season.
The Vikings web site says it ties him with Gary Anderson with the most in team history.
According to NBC’s Pro Football Talk, he has connected on 19-of-21 field goals in 2013, including 10 in a row entering Sunday’s game vs. Chicago.
A sixth-round pick in 2012, Walsh has converted 54-of-59 field goals (91.5 percent) in his regular-season play for Minnesota.
