Dean Lowry is set to miss Sunday’s game against the Falcons, after suffering a groin injury in last week’s 24-10 win over the Packers.
Currently, Lowry is the lone active Viking set to miss Sunday’s clash of 4-4 teams in Atlanta. Receiver K.J. Osborn does not enter the weekend with an injury designation after being limited in practice all week with a chest injury.
Corner Akayleb Evans and receiver Brandon Powell will also have no injury designations for Sunday’s game after appearing on the team’s injury report throughout the week.
Linebacker Brian Asamoah II is questionable for Sunday’s game after missing the Packers game with an ankle injury. Receiver Jalen Nailor and offensive lineman Chris Reed are also questionable for Sunday but roster moves would need to be made before either is activated from the injured reserve list.
As for the eventual returns of Justin Jefferson and Nick Mullens, O’Connell said he does “not have that information right now.” Jefferson and Mullens are eligible to return off injured reserve starting next week.
“I think we’re going to have some end-of-week assessments and see where those guys are at and we’ll continue those on into the next week, and when the time’s right to get those windows opened up, we’ll do that and get those guys back practicing again,” O’Connell continued.
The Vikings head coach told the Pat McAfee show Thursday that Jefferson “should return soon.”
