After appearing in just 18 games this season, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love is aiming for a productive summer of workouts, the Pioneer Press reports.
“I’m looking forward to getting my knee right and my whole body right,” Love told the newspaper Saturday before the Wolves beat the Phoenix Suns. “I’m 24 years old; I can bounce back from this. I’ll be ready to go in a month and get back in the gym. I’ve always prided myself as a pretty ambitious kid. That’s part of the reason (for) where I am today.”
This was the first time Love spoke publicly since having arthroscopic surgery to remove scar tissue in his knee last week in New York. The operation ended any chance of Love returning to the court this season after breaking his right hand twice.
“This was supposed to be such a big year for us and myself and everybody included in this organization,” Love told the Associated Press. “It (ticks) me off in a lot of ways.”
