In his first three years in the NBA, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has established himself as one of the game’s top rising stars. But according to Timberwolves legend Kevin Garnett, Edwards could ascend to a new level this upcoming season.
Edwards posted a clip of him working out in preparation for Team USA’s run at the FIBA World Cup on Friday and Garnett clearly took notice.

“I LOVVVVEE SEEING THIS…SO DOPE,” Garnett said. “Love seeing these young future GREATS GET BETTER RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES YO! Watch how better he’s going to be this year by playing for USA! … I see u young fella.”
Garnett didn’t stop there as he announced that he’s “betting on Ant Man” for an even bigger 2023-24 season.
“I’m BETTING ON ANT MAN THIS YEAR,” Garnett proclaimed. “I see it. I kno what it look like. Check how he working…it’s on a dif level. He’s ACTIVATED. …Go grab MVP this year. Finna sit back n watch this show this year.”
If anything, it sounds like Garnett is as bought in as Edwards is on a big year. Earlier this summer, Edwards vowed to “kill everybody” during an ESPN interview and said he should be in conversations about being one of the best players in the NBA.
After averaging career highs in points (24.6), rebounds (5.8), assists (4.4), steals (1.6) and field goal percentage (45.9%) last season, Edwards looks poised to take the jump toward the NBA’s elite in 2023-24.
