Tributes continue to come in to fallen Minnesota music icon Prince and the latest one comes from another Minnesota icon, a sports icon.
Kevin Garnett posted a tribute on Instagram to his longtime friend and fellow Minnesota celebrity. KG said he remembered Price as a diehard Wolves fan, as an inspiration and “super cool.”
“My favorite Prince story was just in a nightclub, him sending for me then telling me how much he knew about me and the game of basketball,” Garnett told ESPN on Friday. “He was super confident, but humble in how he spoke to you. He was always very inviting and the one takeaway you got from every time you talked to him was how he was just so super cool.”

Prince died on Thursday at the age of 57 at his Paisley Park compound.
He was a staunch supporter of both the Timberwolves and the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx. He even hosted Lynx players for a dance party following their WNBA Championship last season.
Many around Minnesota’s sports community publicly honored the music legend after learning of his death.
An autopsy was completed on Prince Friday. Officials have said they believe Prince was home alone at the time of his death. Carver county sheriff Jim Olson added that there is no evidence of trauma and that suicide is not suspected.
Officials do not expect to release a cause of death for Prince for at least a couple of weeks.
