The Twins rallied for a comeback 4-3 win over the Detroit Tigers on Monday, giving Minnesota the series win over the worst team in baseball.
After trailing 4-3 in the eight inning, Max Kepler came through with a clutch RBI, scoring Lamonte Wade Jr. and Luis Arraez to give the Twins a 4-3 lead for good. For Kepler, he’s now up 90 RBI on the season.
Detroit scored the game’s first run with a first inning home run from Miguel Cabrera, but the Twins retook the lead with a two-run blast from Ehire Adrianza in the second inning, giving Minnesota 269 home runs on the season.

After putting up a few zeros following Cabrera’s dinger, Odorizzi ran into some trouble in the fifth, allowing back-to-back singles to start the inning with Travis Demeritte and Victor Reyes eventually driving in runs to give Detroit a 3-2 lead.
Odorizzi was then pulled after five innings who allowed three earned runs, on five hits, with seven strikeouts through 91 pitches.
However, Tyler Duffey, Zack Littell, Sergio Romo and Talyor Rogers were all superb out of the bullpen, allowing zero runs through four innings of work.
Minnesota still holds a 5.5-game lead in the division, with the Cleveland Indians opening a three-game series with the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, Sept. 2.
With the win, the Twins improve to 85-52 on the season and will hit the road for a three-game series at Fenway Park in Boston starting on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
