Vikings linebacker Eric Kendricks has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 1.
Kendricks intercepted Marcus Mariota and returned it 77 yards for a touchdown that helped Minnesota fuel a 25-point second half en route to a 25-16 win over the Titans.
Kendricks also racked up 7 tackles, per the Vikings official stats.
Dating back to last season, this is the second straight week a Viking has won the award. Defensive end Everson Griffen won the award in Week 17 of last season against Green Bay.
The Vikings play the Packers again on Sunday Night Football this week. Kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
