Karl-Anthony Towns wasn’t supposed to have a big game against DeAndre Jordan, but Towns took one of the NBA’s best defenders – and anyone else who tried to guard him – to school all night.
Towns scored 13 of his game-high 37 points in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead jumper with 44 seconds to play, giving Minnesota its first lead since the second quarter.
And Towns’ shot visibly bothered Clippers owner Steve Ballmer.
The Timberwolves won 104-101 for their first road victory since beating Atlanta on Dec. 21.
Minnesota is now 15-28, just three games out of the eighth seed in the Western Conference playoff race.
