A late rally came up short as the Minnesota Timberwolves fell to the Philadelphia 76ers 122-113 on Saturday night.
The main attraction of Saturday night’s game was the battle between Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns. The two centers brawled on the court the last time they met and the bad blood was still apparent in this meeting.
Towns did his part putting up 39 points and 14 rebounds on the night including a massive slam over Embiid in the second quarter.

While Towns had the highlight, Embid was busy leading the 76ers in his first game back from a knee injury. Embiid had 24 points and eight rebounds as Philadelphia went into the locker room with a 66-60 lead.
The 76ers extended their lead in the third quarter thanks to Tobias Harris. The Philadelphia forward had 32 points as the Sixers’ lead grew to as many as 19 points.
But the Timberwolves fought back behind 27 points from Anthony Edwards. Minnesota chipped the lead down to six points late but Ben Simmons put up 14 points with eight rebounds and six assists to help the Sixers pull away.
The Timberwolves fell to 12-38 on the season and will host the Sacramento Kings on Monday.
