Minnesota Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson added another pair of accolades to his rookie season on Sunday, surpassing Randy Moss’ franchise record and Anquan Boldin’s NFL record for most receiving yards by a rookie.
Jefferson’s afternoon began as he passed Moss’ in the third quarter of the Vikings game with the Detroit Lions. With a 38-yard gain, Jefferson surpassed Moss’ legendary 1998 season where he recorded 1,313 yards.
It appears Jefferson was well aware of the record as he sported cleats that paid homage to the Vikings receiver on Sunday.

After passing Moss, Jefferson had his sights set on Anquan Boldin’s NFL record. As the third quarter winded down, Jefferson surpassed Boldin’s 1,377 yards set in 2003 with a 14-yard gain along the sideline.

As the 22nd overall pick in last April’s NFL Draft, Jefferson’s rookie season has been one of the few bright spots in the Vikings’ 2020 season. Considering Jefferson didn’t even start the first two games of the season, it appears that the 21-year-old has a bright future in Minnesota.
