In news that will leave many a Vikings fan holding their breath, star wide receiver Justin Jefferson left practice Friday after suffering an apparent injury.
Based on reports from the scene, Jefferson left the field with trainers walking by himself, but appeared to be clutching his left arm.
It came after a play in which Jefferson made a catch while being covered by Bashaud Breeland, who landed on him as he brought him to the ground.
The video below shows Jefferson’s hand immediately going to his left shoulder after landing.
At this point, there are no details available as to whether he actually is injured, or if it’s serious. ESPN’s Courtney Cronin said Jefferson was on the ground for several minutes and “looked like he was in quite a bit of pain.”
At this point, it’s not known if Jefferson actually is injured or the extent of its severity. We’ll bring you more as further details emerge.
In any case, it is a scary moment for the Vikings given Jefferson’s importance to the offense ahead of the 2021 season.
In his first NFL season, Jefferson racked up 1,400 receiving yards – a record for a rookie – and seven touchdowns,
