Minnesota native and Wild winger JT Brown didn’t play in the team’s season finale against the Stars Saturday night after being arrested early that morning.
A Dallas police report says Brown was arrested at 2:18 a.m. on April 6 for “drunkenness.”
“Arrestee was intoxicated in a public place,” the report adds.
It happened at the Quadrangle Shopping Center, according to the address. which includes a pub called British Beverage Company and a TNT Tacos and Tequila. Details about the arrest aren’t included in the report.
In a statement, Brown told outlets including the Pioneer Press he made a “poor decision” by going out the night before a game, adding he takes full responsibility for his actions.
The Wild have had no comment.
Brown did not play in the game against the Stars that evening, with head coach Bruce Boudreau saying that day, “Brownie is ill.”
Brown, 28 years old, played at Rosemount High School and UMD before making the NHL. He signed a two-year deal with the Wild this past offseason, and finished his debut run with 3 goals and 5 assists in 56 games.
