Following Sunday’s home sweep of the Orioles the MLB All-Star rosters were announced and Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios was named to the American League team.
Berrios might not have to go alone. Left fielder Eddie Rosario is one of five players included in the final vote, which fans will decided by casting votes between now and 3 p.m. Wednesday.
You can vote for Rosario right here.
Unfortunately, Rosario will probably need a miracle since the four others included in the final vote are Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi, Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons and Mariners shortstop Jean Segura.
From a numbers standpoint, Rosario and Segura deserve the trip to D.C. for the July 17 All-Star Game more than the others, but Benintendi, Stanton and Simmons have big markets and fan bases behind them.
Rosario is hitting .301 with 18 homers, 23 doubles and 53 RBI this season.
The Twins posted the video of manager Paul Molitor breaking the news about Rosario being in the final vote and Berrios being selected to the team.
