In his third game back from the injured list, Jorge Polanco delivered three hits and his first home run of the season to help the Minnesota Twins defeat the Washington Nationals 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
After hitting a single in his first at-bat in the second inning, Polanco put the Twins on the board in the fourth inning with a 380-foot homer around the left field foul pole to tie the game at 1-1.

Polanco’s performance backed up a solid outing for Bailey Ober, who threw 5.2 innings allowing one run on three hits, three walks with four strikeouts. Jose Miranda and Ryan Jeffers also had two hits each to give Ober his first win of the season and avoid a three-game sweep to the Nationals.
The Twins improved to 12-10 on the season and will open a three-game series with the New York Yankees on Monday night when Sonny Gray (2-0, 0.82 ERA) takes on Jhony Brito (2-1, 5.40 ERA) at Target Field.
