Max Kepler hit two home runs and Joe Ryan tossed seven shutout innings as the Minnesota Twins picked up their sixth straight victory with a 5-0 win over the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday night.
Kepler was the star for the Twins, smashing both of his homers off former teammate Michael Pineda. His solo shots in the second and fourth innings put the Twins on the board and Ryan Jeffers added to the lead with a two-run homer in the fifth inning.
While Kepler and Jeffers delivered at the plate, Ryan did his job on the mound. The rookie was dominant on Wednesday night, allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out nine batters.
Carlos Correa also had his back, making a dazzling play in the fourth inning to help the cause.

With a double in the seventh, Jeffers finished with three RBI on the night and helped the Twins cruise to victory.
After a 4-8 start, the Twins have the look of a team beginning to hit their stride. Minnesota will look for its seventh straight win and second straight series sweep when they host the Tigers on Thursday afternoon.
