Joe Mauer leading off for the first time in his career tonight

Joe Mauer has been the Twins’ staple 3-hitter for more than a decade, but tonight he’ll be leading off for the first time in his career.

A leadoff hitter’s job is to get on base and set the table for the middle of the order, and Mauer leads the American League with a .420 on-base percentage.
