Regardless of where Jimmy Butler plays in the future, the Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star is still proving to be an incredible humanitarian.
Butler posted a 56-second video to his social media channels of him and a young kid playing air guitars and singing “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by The Charlie Daniels Band.
The youngster Butler is with is Ethan Whitney, a 16-year-old from Appleton, Wisconsin who meets Butler through Make-A-Wish. Whitney is fighting B-cell lymphoma
The full segment featuring Butler with Whitney will debut on ESPN’s SportsCenter at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 19. The feature will show Butler playing basketball with Whitney, along with games of paintball, dominoes and building robots.
There’s been a lot of negativity about Butler in the national headlines of late, including an article out of Chicago that said Butler has no plans to stay in Minnesota beyond next season.
Butler recently turned down a $100+ million contract extension from the Wolves, largely because he can make far more money as a free agent next summer.
