Unable to find a flight out of Los Angeles to Indianapolis to see his younger brother make his college basketball debut, Wolves guard Tyus Jones got some help from Jimmy Butler.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski, Butler chartered a private jet for Jones to take to Indy, an act that Jones described as “very selfless” in an interview with ESPN.

Jones flew back to L.A. right after he watched Tre Jones help fourth-ranked Duke crush No. 2 Kentucky 118-84 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in the opening game of the season for both teams.
“It means a lot. I was there for him when he was going through all of this in college,” Tre said to ESPN’s Andy Katz when asked what it meant to have Tyus in the crowd. “It’s really cool.”
Tre, like Tyus, won the Mr. Basketball award at Apple Valley High School as the top senior player in Minnesota. Tyus won a national championship at Duke and was the MVP of the Final Four, and Tre might have that chance too because Duke looks about as unstoppable as any team in college basketball memory.
Tre finished with six points, seven assists, four rebounds, one steal and most importantly, zero turnovers, as Duke’s starting point guard.
Another Minnesotan starred for Kentucky: Reid Travis.
The former DeLaSalle High School big man finished with 22 points and seven rebounds in his first game with the Wildcats. Travis is a graduate transfer from Stanford University.
