Jimmy Butler took a not-so-subtle shot at the Timberwolves at the Miami Heat’s media day Monday.
Butler’s brief stint in Minnesota ended with a controversial exit following his infamous preseason practice. On Monday, when talking about his time in China this past summer, Butler remarked on seeing fans wearing his jerseys from all his stops.
“It was kind of like surreal. Because coming from a small town, I mean not only am I an NBA player but to go over there and everybody know who I am, support me and buy my sneaker. And have my jersey from the Chicago days, skip a team, the Philly days and now [Miami].”
Skip a team? Oh yeah, that’s his way of saying the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ouch.
“The Chicago days, skip a team, the Philly days, and now here.”
That’s how Jimmy Butler refers to his time in the league

Butler was drafted by the Bulls with the 30th pick in 2011. After six season in Chicago, Butler was traded to the Wolves but he played only 69 games before he forced his way out. Butler spent just one season in Philadelphia before signing with the Heat in the summer of 2019.
The Wolves host the Heat in the season opener Oct. 28 at Target Center so that oughta be fun…
