Former Wolves star Al Jefferson scored 40 points to lead the Utah Jazz to a 107-100 win over the Timberwolves Friday night.
The win means nothing, really, for the Wolves, but it means everything for the Jazz.
Utah trailed the Lakers by one game before the victory, a 1/2 game after the victory, and they could be tied for the eighth seed in the Western Conference if Golden State beats L.A. tonight.
Minnesota has another crack at spoiling Jefferson and Utah’s season Monday night when the two teams meet at Target Center.
J.J. Barea led the Wolves with 23 points off the bench.
